I always love going to Paris whether it’s for work or just to shop and relax. With each visit I feel as if I have returned home again. (I feel that way about most places that I visit repeatedly; Call me a citizen of the world)
I remember the days of learning French in New York at FIAF (French Institute Alliance Francaise). I thought it would be impossible to learn this language but with a lot of practice I did reach a level where i was pretty comfortable.
Each time i’m in Paris I readily speak to them in their language and this always makes my trip loads easier. Plus it’s a lot of fun to practice. The French really appreciates those that makes an effort to speak French rather than just shooting off in English and expecting them to readily respond. Who knows they could be out of practice with English and it could place them on the spot when you speak in English and expect a response.
At this point it’s not hard for me to navigate Paris and it’s many arrondissements. I normally know what I want or what I’m looking for so I’m able to get to it with no problem. SInce I’m addicted to chocolate the first thing I normally have in France/Paris is a Pain au Chocolat. Chocolate lovers you should take note. One( or two) Pain au Chocolats will give you everything you need. Trust me.
If you’re contemplating the city of lights for the first time or thinking about returning for your 4th time go ahead and give it shot or another shot. I mean it’s Paris after all. It’s not like you will dislike it. Even if you hate it you’ll still love it. It’s that simple.
